NASA’s Curiosity Rover on May 7, 2022[1], photographed what resembled a door on Mars. NASA has disputed that this is anything other than a natural phenomenon, but rather created by fissures in the rocks[2]. Traditionally, doors represent a liminal experience, a threshold one has to pass through to enter a new state of being, and whether this potentially may be the image of a ‘ritual’ doorway on Mars or not, remains to be seen. Liminality[3] is defined as a sensory threshold which is transitional, and for the purpose of this newsletter, is that point at which we move through a threshold leading to our consciousness being transformed. It has been called the state of “being betwixt and between”, and in Dr. Hurtak’s words, he describes it as the space of transition before attaining a higher state of consciousness, or “being in between being and becoming”.
Psychological Research by Gabriel Radvansky and his colleagues at the University of Notre Dame, was stimulated by the idea that people forget tasks as they move through a door (or opening) from one room to another, an occurrence not specifically associated with age-related memory loss but rather so common that it has become known in psychological terms as the “doorway effect”. Radvansky et al discovered that doorways (or thresholds) represent mental “event boundaries”[4], which lead to a change in mind-set when walking through them.
In the Glossary of The Keys of Enoch®, Threshold is defined as: “A door beyond which you experience a qualitative change”[5]. Where does one experience such a qualitative change? The Greek word Metanoia colloquially means to change one’s mind or, more specifically, a qualitative change in a mind-set[6]. In Christian theology, Metanoia refers to the act of repentance, which also is a change in mind-set, and many theologians, in fact, describe repentance as a doorway to Grace.
There are many instances of liminality in spiritual or wisdom traditions. In The Overself Awakening[7], Hayu Marca in Peru is seen as a gate to be opened for our soul to travel. Drs. Hurtak, the authors, further say, “Yet each soul has a different energy vibration which functions with various stargates, just as star differs from star in Glory.”[8] We become the energy door and power behind light transformation. As each of us is unique, we find our own vibration and portals or stargates. The Keys® and scriptures give many examples of stargates (thresholds), for instance: Jacob’s ladder of angels ascending and descending[9]; Omega-Orion, the threshold entry point into the Father Universe[10]; or even the inner gateway in John 10:9 where Jesus the Christ says “I am the door (Greek: thyra); whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture”. The finding of “pasture” is that very change in the mind-set ‒ an elevation of consciousness.
In elevating our consciousness, we need to choose what aspect of our mind-set we need to change, as we move from the limitation of where we can only recognise physical doorways, to opening to the multidimensionality of the greater thresholds that await us. The Keys of Enoch® tell us that there are threshold gates within our mind, within the Earth, within the lower heavens, within the cosmos and up into the higher heavens and all are interconnected[11]. In the process of moving through them we find that each is a transition into a greater threshold of consciousness. In Matthew 7:7 we are told: “Knock and it shall be opened to you”, thus, the process is one in which we not only actively “choose to be chosen” but also acknowledge that we are not alone. The Helpers and the Hierarchy are always present to guide us in the pathways of ascension and consciousness change as we move from that consciousness of ‘my’ transformation to that of the greater ‘we’ of the ongoing creation.
Although the Sacred Name we use here is part of the prayer for the departed soul, the wording is relevant for all liminal experiences of transformation (which is dying to one’s old self and awakening to the new). In the Grace and Compassion of the Divine Blessings that open the Threshold Gates for us, let us petition El Maleh Rachamim: “O Gate of Heaven, open to me, that I may be guided as to which Pathway to walk”[12].
